Hello there! Me again! I’m still in college but my favourite subject, at the moment, was modern physics. It was an optional subject that you could take after approve physics II. There the professor taught us how physicists can completely destroy classical physics by applying formulas ands concepts completely different from those we are used to.  I liked this subject very much. I enjoyed attending classes so much because it was very different to other classes, even the others that made the same theacher. Also, we were students from different semesters, which made it even more interesting.  In class, professor taught concepts such as passage of time at high speed, the fourth dimension, the Kuiper belt, black holes, etc. Very interesting things, as you can see.  Before I took it, I thought that this subject was very very difficult, but I still attracted to it. Also, later in university I to take a subject named introduction to quantum mechanics and, the opcional subjec...

Hello! Me again!  There's one person that I admire and it's Dr. Raphael Mechoulam. He is a chemistry scientist that, one day, started to study cannabis plant because nobody had done before, and having a small laboratory, was not feasible to provide competition to big laboratories with other more studied topics, and unintentionally discovered and isolated the THC and, several years later, the endocannabinoid system.  This discovered was very important to science, specially for medical botany and, even nowadays, inspires many studies with latest technology that can help people. Dr. Mechoulam was born in Bulgaria in 1930, but in the times of Nazi Germany and after the capture of his father, they had to migrate to Israel, where he enlisted in the army and finished his chemistry major. In the 1950s, after his post-doctorate, he entered the Weizmann Institute of Science, where he discovered THC in his laboratory. I admire dr Mechoulam because he did all of that in a small lab ...

Hello, there! It's me, again :) Today I'd like to talk about my major and its relationship with the world.  Chemistry is wonderful and had provided many things to humanity troughout the centuries. Thanks to it and other sciences we have everything we know today. So, do you thing chemistry will bring us better thing on the future? I think that's absolutely yes. It is very important to us nowadays. Thanks to it togheter with other majors we have, for example, covid vaccine today and, of course, more thing will come in the future.  As a future chemistry scientist, I would like to contribute with new discoveries. Maybe not a big one like a new element, but something that can help the people or animals. Even if only to provide evidence of something that is already known.  What is absolutely certain is that chemistry will never stagnant. There will always be new things to discover and, of course, people who will benefit from it.

Hello, there! Today I’m gonna write about a photo that I like and I think It’s really important for science.  Ok, maybe It’s not a “photo”  as  such. It is an image of a Black Hole reconstructed thanks to computer scientist Katie Bouman and her team. She invented an algorithm that works on Event Horizon Telescope, that can see this Black Hole and saved the data in 4 petabytes, that this team of more than 200 people worked together and, finally in April 10th 2019, they could recreate this image.  I really like this photo not for only show us like a  Black Hole looks like for first time, it’s because this was a woman’s discovered. We as women are very undervalued in science world, despite of important discoveries of others women scientists made before, like Marie Curie, for example. Many men thinks that it’s not a place to women can work and can contribute important things. This event proves that we can do that even in modern times. As a future scientist, this eve...

Hello, everyone!  What's your favourite food? I had to think it a lot, because the most I like in the world is chocolate, but it isn't a food or a meal, at least a healthy one :(  After think about it, fajitas came to my mind. Fajita is spanish word for wrap. I like it because it's so versatile, one day you can put some things and another day you can put something totally different. And still taste very good.  My favourite fajitas are made with lettuce, rice, mozzarella cheese, black beans and guacamole. To make a fajita is so easy, you prepare the ingredients that you'd like to put in a mexican tortilla (like those I mencioned), you can add some condiments and sauces (I like to put mayonnaise on it) and then you wrap the tortilla, taking care not to throw away what's inside.  Usually they are a healthy meal. But you have to be careful not to put too much sauce, salt or ingredients that aren't so healthy in great quantities.

Hello, everyone!  Today I want to tell you about my favourite piece of technology, but before, have you ever thing about that? There's so many things that you can choose! It loooks impossible to do!  My favorite piece of technology? Pencil, of course, in all its varieties. The most I like are the colored pencil, but all types of pencils are really important to us as human beens, but we just don't notice it in our daily live.  One of the first things that my gramma gave me to realize myself was a box of pencils. I barely remember that, but I remember like yesterday the walls painted with my "art". Maybe I was three or four, but I have those memories very recorded in my mind. Since then I never stopped use them. I like to draw, paint and write almost in everything: books, little pieces of paper, walls, napkins, clothes, even I had my desk with scrawls, but I'm not really good artist. And, of course, I use them to study and organize things almost everytime. I feel th...

Hello there, it's me again!  Continuing about myself, I will tell you how I took the decition to study Chemistry. Many options and thoughts were present along my life.  Since I was a child, I loved animals and plants so much that I said I would like to be a veterinary when I grew up. I also liked to see insects and do experiments with things that I could have from my home (fortunately, there was not an explosion and nobody was hurt in the proccess haha). I always was a natural sciences person, but a funny fact It's that, when I was in secondary, I was very bad at chemistry.  Before leaving school, I was very sure I wanted to be a dentist, but I took a year to think about it and I finally made the decition to study Sciences Degree with Biology Major, but I was not selected. Chemistry was my second option, but now I like it very much. I'm not regret at all. I had a great time at the university. I made many friends and we spend good times together, if we don't talk abou...
